Nominate individuals who are interested in volunteering their time to steer the largest business organization in San Marcos. Criteria are listed below. Monthly meetings are required. Submit nominations by July 10 using the form below.


Suitable nominees should be:

  • An active member of the business community and the Chamber
  • A decision maker in his or her field
  • Interested in serving as a volunteer
  • A person with vision and leadership skills
  • Able to attend monthly board meetings, usually held the fourth Wednesday of the month from 11:30am-1pm.

Volunteer Opportunity: Support The Teacher Reuse!


The Teacher Reuse program is starting teacher supply pick-up at two school districts—San Marcos and Hays—and they need volunteers to help with the process.

The Teacher Reuse accepts donations of classroom supplies and materials, making them available to teachers at no cost. Help support our educators by volunteering your time!

First Tuesday SMTX Film Series on June 4th


First Tuesday SMTX Film Series is screening "Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom" on Tuesday, June 4 at the Price Center. Enjoy complimentary drinks and pizza, doors open at 6:15 p.m. Join the post-film Q&A with director Ya'ke Smith and Dr. Dwonna Goldstone, Director of the African American Studies Program at TXST. The film explores the legacy of those emancipated in Texas in 1865.


A Black man is troubled by the legacy of American slavery and the misuse of Christianity to justify it. He travels throughout Texas and discovers how the Juneteenth holiday reveals the hope and courage that empowered the formerly enslaved and their descendants to fight for freedom in an often unjust society.

City of San Marcos Launches “Reuse at the River” Campaign


The City of San Marcos has introduced the “Reuse at the River” campaign to inform residents and visitors about new rules regarding single-use beverage containers at city-owned riverfront parks and on the San Marcos River. The Reuse at the River Ordinance went into effect on May 1, 2024, with the following provisions:


  • River patrons may only use reusable drink containers on the river, along the riverbanks, and in designated areas known as "No Zones."
  • Each person is permitted one cooler/ice chest of less than 30 quarts within the No Zones.
  • Single-use (disposable) drink containers are allowed only in designated "Go Zone" areas.
