Congratulations to the organizing committee as well as the army of volunteers that pulled off hosting the International Plowing match in Bowling Green a few weeks back. It was no small accomplishment and one that many will hold in their memories for years to come. I’m sure that many in our agricultural community would prefer a break after such a large event instead continue working hard at their fall harvest. Thanks to Diana and Jaemilyn from our DBOT office for putting in so many hours at the event as well as the board members that were able to help out at the DBOT booth. I have heard many great stories from the event but one of my favorite’s comes from a friend who was far more thrilled to have his photo taken with Amber Marshall from Heartland fame than what he was earlier in the week to get his photo with Premier Ford!

DBOT isn’t taking any time off either as we prepare for the Dream Dufferin Career Pathways event Thursday, November 9th at the OAS event centre. If you weren’t involved in this event last year it is a great event that brings local trades together with students from grade 8 through high school to expose them to skilled trades. DBOT is involved with many more high profile events but I’m not sure if there is one that is more impactful.

November is a busy month for your board of directors as we hold our strategic planning meeting to plan for the future of DBOT for both next year and beyond.

Just a short intro to the newsletter this week. I could go on at length but I need to leave some time to print it off and drive it down to the DBOT office as we await more suitable high-speed here on main street Mono!
