Your Board of Trade co hosted the Industry Luncheon last week with our partners the Greater Dufferin Homebuilders Association and the Rotary club of Orangeville. Folks at this well attended event were treated to a chat from local MPP who just happens to be the Deputy Premier of Ontario and Minister of Health the Honourable Sylvia Jones. RBC graciously brought in the speaker for the event, their Senior Economist Josh Nye (aka Josh Nye the economist guy). Josh laid out some pretty detailed projections for the coming year and while predicting a bumpy ride that the sky is indeed not falling.

Thank-you to the many sponsors who support this event year after year along with a hard working committee headed up by Henry Jansen who pulled it all together. Just another one of those events that was great to be able to attend in person again.

I had the opportunity to meet with a potential new member this week and it reminded me of the many things that the Dufferin Board of Trade has to offer. Each of us have our own reasons for joining be it to be listed on the business directory, have increased opportunities to network, being able to provide staff with cost effective benefits, to join our advocacy voice or to have access to our advertising bundles there has never been a better time to join DBOT.

The International Plowing Match organizing committee is in full swing with their planning to hold the event in Dufferin County this fall near Bowling Green. What a great opportunity it is to have this large, high profile event locally.

Hopefully we’re nearing the end of these winter blasts and by the time my next missive rolls around there will be some signs of spring. I am excited to be representing DBOT at the OCC advocacy day at Queen’s Park on March 6th. I’ll have more on that in the next newsletter

Conquer Your Values - Free Workshop
In this session, we will get to work by identifying your core values and highlighting how you can incorporate them in your personal and professional leadership.

Values is the inside work that needs to happen. It's what helps you identify why you show up the way you do.

Your values define how you do everything in life. When you're clear on your values and how they come to the surface whether in you personal, professional, community life or anything in between, you can then live with that much more intention. Not by accident.
