Hello Dufferin County Business-people!

Spring has quickly turned into summer, although many are preferring rainy days now than those with haze and smoke filled air. At least it has given our northern American friends something to complain about other than the “cold coming down from Canada.”

DBOT remains busy throughout the summer as I’m sure you’ve seen. Some recently with Lucy and her team at the grand openings of new businesses throughout the County. We wish them all a great deal of future success.

The golf committee is busy preparing for our next DBOT golf tournament on Thursday, August 24th at the Shelburne golf course. It is always a fantastic event, both Sam and Meaghan have promised great weather for the day. I hope that you can take the day off to join us. You can register now on the website.

Early stage organizing has begun for our next Skilled Trades event in November. More on that in the coming weeks. There are events that DBOT is involved in that are more well attended or more fun but I’m not sure that there is one that is more impactful. I really hope that all of you involved in skilled trades, either yourself or those you hire. will get involved with this great event.

Have a great month as you do business in the County!

Sincerely,

Doug Harkness
Chair, Dufferin Board of Trade
