There is a lot going on in the county!

The folks in the office are planning a fantastic holiday-themed DBOT connects event for Tuesday, December 6th from 5-7 PM at the Plumbing Experts Showroom in Orangeville. It is great to see so many in-person events up and running again. I hope to see you there.

Thanks to the many Board members and interested others who attended the DBOT strategic planning meeting last week. Our extraordinary moderator Kaarina Dillabough kept us focused, which allowed us to cover a great deal of material in a short time. We left energized and organized with both our board and staff having a better idea of what direction to take the organization in both the short and medium term. Thank you to Orangeville Hydro for allowing us to use their meeting room for the event.

A note of reminder to all of our members that your Board of Trade is here to advocate on behalf of its members. I recognize that many issues are sector-specific, so if there is something you think we should be acting on, don’t hesitate to drop us a note, and we can discuss it with you. Getting passable high-speed internet on Main Street Mono and other parts of rural Dufferin is not an issue in the urban parts of the County like Orangeville, where not only is high speed available, but there is a choice of providers!

I want to close by wishing our members all the best in the coming holiday season. While I’m not sure that things have completely returned to “normal,” I’m looking forward to the many in-person events that are starting to fill up my calendar. I wish you all a season of joy and, hopefully homes filled with family and friends this holiday season.

  3. Launch a Social Media Giveaway - A quick way to build your following (and your email list)
  4. Highlight Past Purchases or Services - December is a great time to showcase what others have purchased or the services you have rendered.

Ontario Chamber Network: Broken Links
While the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated technology adoption within organizations, many are being left behind. The Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s latest policy brief, Broken Links: Driving Technology Adoption within Ontario’s Small Businesses, explores solutions to address the key barriers small businesses face in adopting and implementing technology.

Ontario’s economy and communities thrive when small businesses succeed. We must ensure they are not left behind in the transition to an increasingly digitized economy. Click here to read.

As we wind down this year, let's build an unshakable foundation for 2023.

In this session, we will get to work by identifying your core values and highlighting how you can incorporate them in your personal and professional leadership.

You see, values is the inside work that needs to happen. It's what helps you identify why you show up the way you do. Your values define how you do everything in life. When you're clear on your values and how they come to the surface whether in you personal, professional, community life or anything in between, you can then live with that much more intention. Not by accident.

This session is also a chance for PROJECT CONQUER alumni to re-connect. And if you haven't participated in PROJECT CONQUER before, you'll get a chance to meet some amazing people who are doing incredible things in their own way.
