Fundraising Update

Dear Meher Center Family and Friends,

As we prepare to reopen the Center per the board’s recent communication, we want to take a moment to bring everyone up to date on how things have been developing on the financial front this year.
Last year, when we reached out in May to share our concerns about how the pandemic might affect the Center’s financial picture, there was an overwhelmingly positive response. May, June, and July of 2020 were record-breaking months in terms of donations received.
That level of donation support has fallen off dramatically this year. Through August, we have received less than half of what came in last year.
Donations remain our primary defense against drawing down the value of the Center’s endowment. And while we know it’s not possible for everyone, matching or exceeding last year’s donations would be especially helpful between now and the end of the year.
We’ll share more detail within the next couple of months, but wanted to let everyone know that we have a lot of catching up to do.
As a reminder, you can donate to the Center through our website at www.mehercenter.org/donate, where you can choose to begin a monthly donation or give a one-time gift. Or, if you prefer, you can send a check to the address listed below. If you have an existing monthly donation and would like to increase it, please contact the Gateway at (843) 272-5777.
