New NeveRest Sport Gearboxes

The new NeveRest Sport planetary gearboxes are going to shake up your FIRST RELIC RECOVERY build! These gearboxes, designed in collaboration with BaneBots, offer lots of features explicitly for FIRST Tech Challenge teams.

NeveRest Sport gearboxes all feature a common hole pattern on the top and bottom at the output end, which matches the common 6-32 screw and 16mm hole spacing found elsewhere in the FIRST Tech Challenge parts ecosystem.  The output shaft features an integrated Nub, for the most robust power transmission possible.

NeveRest Sport gearboxes accept a NeveRest motor without the standard integrated gearbox, and they're available in ratios from 4:1 up to a beefy 256:1.  With proven internals derived from the P60 many teams used last year for ball shooters, it's sure to be a popular choice among teams for all kinds of manipulators.  NeveRest Sport gearboxes are in stock and shipping now!
Red & Blue Bumper Kit
It's Official, FRC Teams: You Need Pool Noodles!

The official FRC Blog  announced it this week: bumpers and pool noodles will be part of the 2018 FRC game.

We don't know the full bumper rules for 2018 (and if we did we wouldn't tell!), but we do carry pool noodles, bumper fabric, mounting brackets, stick-on numbers, and other parts to make bumpers that have been legal the past several years.  That's pretty much everything except the 3/4" plywood, which you can get at any home improvement store.  If your bumpers are looking rough, go ahead and practice against the 2017 rules to get your robot ready for demos and off-season tournaments!
