Empowering Young Women, Changing The World
Meet the New President of Serviam Girls Academy
Dear Members of the Serviam Girls Academy Community,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tinesar Priester as the 7th President of Serviam Girls Academy. Tinesar will begin her tenure on July 1, 2024. She has been serving as Serviam’s Interim President since January 2024.

The Board conducted an extensive national search process and during this process, Tinesar impressed us with her passion and dedication to Serviam’s mission. During her time as Interim President, Tinesar has worked with the faculty and staff to address challenges and act on opportunities that enable Serviam to enhance the overall experience and environment for our students. In addition, she is an energetic, collaborative, creative and thoughtful leader who we believe will enable Serviam to achieve its 5-year Strategic Plan goals, as we approach the 20th anniversary of Serviam in the Fall of 2028.

Tinesar comes to Serviam with over 25 years of non-profit experience, including leadership roles as the Executive Director at the Philadelphia Research and Education Foundation, Director of Programs at Connecting Generations, Executive Director at YWCA of Chester County and Interim Executive Director at Prevent Child Abuse Delaware. In all these roles she was actively engaged in: onboarding, supervising, developing and empowering of staff; policy creation and implementation; and leading activities across volunteers, board members, partners, and all stakeholders. Her leadership style has been described as one where she provides the team with the direction, tools and support they need to succeed and then lets them do their jobs.

During the interview process, Tinesar expressed how impressed she was with the school’s rich history, the talented students, and the dedicated staff.  She also shared that she personally finds purpose in the mission of Serviam a calling to serve as the full-time President of Serviam as it brings her joy and aligns with her values, personality, and experience.

I would like to thank the search committee for their time, dedication, and diligence to this process and outcome. The Board would like to thank the faculty and staff for their patience and dedication to educating and caring for our students during this period of transition. We would also like to thank our parents/families for their ongoing support and faith in Serviam.

As we stand on the threshold of a new chapter at Serviam Girls Academy, we are filled with optimism and a profound sense of purpose. Tinesar's leadership promises to be a beacon that guides our students to new heights of achievement and character. We are united in our mission to not just educate, but to inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators, and trailblazers. Together, Tinesar and the entire Serviam Team will usher in an era of growth, success, and empowerment for every student who walks through our doors.

We encourage the entire Serviam community to extend a heartfelt welcome to Tinesar. Let us embrace the change with open minds, collaborate with open hearts, and contribute to our shared goals with unwavering commitment. Thank you for being an integral part of this journey. Here's to a future at Serviam Girls Academy that is as bright and promising as the young women we are privileged to educate.

Sincerely,
Bob Kirkwood
