Bon Banh Mi began as a food vendor at the Charleston Farmers Market in 2010. By 2012, the restaurant opened a brick and mortar location in downtown Charleston, and a second location was opened in Mount Pleasant that CLIMB Fund had the opportunity to assist with financing. Now, a third location also in Mount Pleasant is set to open with the help of a CLIMB Fund loan.

Silver Convenience Store

The grandfather of Robert A McFadden, Sr. opened the first and only grocery store in the Silver community in 1953. Robert worked in the store beginning when he was 10 years old, and as a high schooler, he managed the store. Robert continued to help in the store until he left for college. Some time later, the store closed. Now retired from the military, Robert will be able to reopen the store with the help of a CLIMB Fund loan in a community that is often viewed as a food desert.

With more than 13 years of commercial driving experience and several endorsements, owner Kyle Tavares recognized opportunity in this growing industry and established Tavares Transportation. Licensed since 2009 and skilled in the operation of multiple commercial vehicles, Kyle has purchased the equipment he needs for the business with a loan from the CLIMB Fund.

Trash Talkers, LLC

Trash Talkers is a Veteran and family-owned waste disposal solution company that delivers dumpster container rentals in the Lowcountry and properly disposes waste off-site. Owners Brandon and Elisabeth Allen bring a combined 25 years of managerial experience to the operation. We are pleased to say that a CLIMB Fund loan was used to help Trash Talkers purchase the equipment necessary to run the business.

Salt Wood Co.

After noticing the growing popularity of sustainable products, reclaimed wood, and repurposed furniture, owner Bryan Van Pelt launched Salt Wood Co. The custom woodworking shop began in a garage and has now expanded to a 3,500 square foot production and showroom space in Mount Pleasant. CLIMB Fund was able to assist with increasing production and efficiency with a small business loan.
