What a joy it is to have children. And what a joy to see those children prosper! Nearly 20 years ago, Redeeming Grace Church became Christ Memorial’s first daughter church, planted through the agency of NETS. Join us in praising God for his blessing on RGC, and pray for wisdom and favor as they look to expand their building and consider their first daughter church.

REDEEMING GRACE CHURCH

Where We Started

God has been so gracious to Redeeming Grace Church! Our church began in 2005 with a group of 70 from Christ Memorial Church under the leadership of Paul Maffin. We wandered from one school gym to another until, in 2009, we purchased land off I-89 in Georgia, Vermont, and constructed our current facility with the help of CMC and NETS. In 2013, Paul retired and I became lead pastor. Since then, although there have been challenges, I’d have to say God has poured grace upon grace on our church.

What God Is Doing

He has caused RGC to grow. In 2013, our average attendance was 130. Recently 222 souls gathered to sing, pray, hear the Word preached, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

He is saving sinners. Last year we baptized 14 people, and they have all entered into church membership and are growing in faith.

He is fostering a culture of evangelism and discipleship. I don’t think I even know all the evangelistic Bible studies going on, or the number of brothers and sisters meeting informally to pray for each other, to read Scripture or a book together, and to encourage one another in their walk with Christ.

He is raising up leaders. Two years ago we began a pastoral internship. This year we began a leadership development course that includes theological training as well as preaching opportunities. Our desire is to develop more weight-bearing and mission-minded men to lead our church or to bless a future church plant.

Where We’re Dreaming

Where are we headed? Two big ideas.

One, we want to be prepared for God to do wonderful things. What if the Lord were to add another 100 to our number over the next few years? We wouldn’t have space to accommodate that. So with a hopeful eye to the future, we’re researching various construction options to enlarge our footprint.

Two, we want to plant or revitalize a church. To that end, we’re saving funds, looking for opportunities, and chiefly praying for God to send us a qualified man. Our desire is to be ready for whatever gospel opportunity the Lord brings our way.

Lead Pastor, Redeeming Grace Church

This month we’re praying for four key areas:

  • Sending: Pray for Ben and Joe, current residents that we’re seeking to place in two New England churches with potential for revitalization. Pray also for NETS graduate Garet Halbert as he moves toward planting this fall through Proclamation.

  • Serving: Pray for Christ Memorial Church as they send a mission team to Dalesville Baptist Church, a NETS-affiliated revitalization in Quebec, one of the least churched regions of the world. And pray for the many mission teams coming to help with our campus renovation project.

  • Fundraising: Pray for Dave and Wes as they embark on a week of fundraising in California. Pray that God would provide new partner churches as well as large donors who can support projects for NETS and NETS Network churches.
