We are thrilled to announce that we have a new team member. Please welcome Valerie Wookie who is our new Children, Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator. She will be working with our beloved Cara O'Connell to make a smooth transition into the position as Cara has taken on additional responsibilities at the Carillon School as one of the Co-Directors.
Valerie was born in Peoria, Illinois, and moved to Palo Alto when she was 9. She attended Palo Alto High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Clinical Dietetics and Food Science at Cal-Berkeley. She is currently working on her PhD and is also a certified Yoga instructor. She is married and has three adult children, ages 25, 27, and 29. She worked in the research division of several food products companies until her second child was born. Then she shifted her focus to full-time parenting and numerous volunteer activities. She has more than 30 years experience with children, youth and Sunday School programs at the First Congregational Church in Palo Alto before moving. Her hobbies include dance and vegetable gardening. She lives in Portola Valley with her husband, John, dogs and numerous chickens.
Our regular Sunday School programs and kick off will be September 12 - so mark you calendars!
