Meet MHA of the MidSouth's Executive Director;
Amber Hampton, LCSW
We are beyond excited to announce Amber Hampton, LCSW as the new Executive Director of Mental Health America of the MidSouth! With her wealth of experience and dedication to mental health advocacy, she will lead our organization to new heights in fulfilling our mission to promote mental wellness and bring vital resources to our community.
Amber brings a diverse background in social work and community advocacy to her role as Executive Director. She graduated summa cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor's degree in global studies and went on to earn her master's degree in evidence-based interpersonal practice from The University of Tennessee College of Social Work. Her commitment to healing-focused care is evident through her graduate certificate in the treatment of trauma, and she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of executive leadership experience.
Throughout her career, Amber has demonstrated a deep compassion for those in need, particularly youth, individuals experiencing homelessness, and survivors of human trafficking. Her experience as a lead therapist, crisis counselor, and community social worker has equipped her with invaluable insights into the challenges facing our communities.
For the last 6 years, Amber has served as the Senior Director of Program Operations here at Mental Health America of the MidSouth. Before joining MHA, Amber served as the Executive Director of Murfreesboro Cold Patrol, where she played a pivotal role in providing outreach, advocacy, and support to end the revolving door of homelessness in Rutherford County. Her leadership and dedication to social justice have left a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Amber is an avid musician, gym enthusiast, and world traveler. Her passion for connecting with people and exploring different cultures reflects her innate curiosity and open-mindedness.
