The practices are based on the wisdom and compassion teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist Dzogchen Lineage. 

They are non-denominational and non-theistic. Practitioners at all meditation levels are invited.

John Dileva–Halpern

John studied in the Gurdjeiff tradition from 1976-80, with Gilbert Barretto. He trained in Iyengar Yoga with Maestro Radames Silvestri in Venice, Italy, 1980-83 and taught Iyengar yoga from '83-88.


He began Tibetan Buddhist studies and training in 1982 with His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, Khenchen Palden Sherab and Khenchen Tsewang Dongyal. He continued his studies with H.H. Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche, until Rinpoche’s death. 


At H.H. Shenphen Dawa’s request, in 2009, John began leading meditation instruction at Yeshe Nyingpo, the Dudjom Buddhist Temple in New York, with Kenneth Frey, a Cranio Sacral master. Since then, John has led retreats and Naked Mind - a weekly meditation class, in Union Square, New York.


His current meditation instruction is based in Delhi, NY, at Institute for Cultural Activism International, a 501(c)3 art retreat established by Emily Harris and John Halpern, in 2022.

  

John received a 3rd-Level Reiki Certification from Reverends Beth

and John Gray, in 1980 and practices Reiki to this day.


John is an international, award winning artist and independent filmmaker of over 50 years, known for large-scale, interactive, public art, cultural activism – socially engaged practice, and theatrically released art films.
