Smithers District Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Emily Klaassen as New Office Manager
Smithers, BC — The Smithers District Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the appointment of Emily Klaassen as the new administrative Office Manager. With her extensive administrative experience, leadership skills, and creative mindset, Emily is poised to make significant contributions to the Chamber's administrative operations, Visitor Centre and community outreach efforts.
Emily brings over four years of administrative expertise, coupled with a robust background in multitasking and leadership. Her previous roles have equipped her with a diverse skill set, including proficiency in bookkeeping, minute taking, agenda development, grant writing, and proficiency in MS Office products and accounting software. In addition to her administrative prowess, Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in fine art + Design, which has nurtured her ability to think creatively and devise innovative solutions. Her creative acumen will extend to promotional and marketing materials, enhancing the Chamber's outreach and communication strategies.
Drawing from her upbringing in a family deeply involved in nonprofits, Emily possesses a keen understanding of the challenges nonprofits face, particularly in terms of sustainable funding. Her background in customer care, event management, and relationship management positions her well to engage with Chamber members, visitors and stakeholders effectively.
