DOWNTOWN BOISE FOUNDATION, A NEW NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, SEEKS APPLICATIONS FOR ITS TIPS FOR CHARITY PROGRAM

Boise, February 28, 2022Downtown Boise Foundation (DBF) seeks applications from nonprofit organizations for its Tips for Charity Program to provide bar volunteers for the 35th season of the Alive After 5 Concert Series to be held on The Grove Plaza in June, July, and August 2022.

Downtown Boise Foundation is a new 501(c)3 nonprofit with the vision of building community and celebrating culture in Downtown Boise. The organization facilitates multiple free programs and events annually that benefit the Treasure Valley community. Several of these events have been previously operated by Downtown Boise Association (DBA) with new activities coming to the heart of our city through Downtown Boise Foundation.

It has long been a goal of Downtown Boise Association, a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization, to create a partnering organization with 501(c)3 status. “Downtown Boise Foundation will allow us to access grant funding and a broader range of partnerships making sure that as our city grows, our community events are also allowed to expand and mature to match the quality that our audience expects from its vibrant downtown.” Executive Director Jennifer Hensley stated. “We surveyed over 2,700 Treasure Valley community members in 2021 and one thing we heard loud and clear is a desire for an upgrade in experience. DBF will help us answer that call.”

“The return of Alive After 5 for its 35th season in 2022 is an exciting opportunity.” Downtown Boise Foundation Board member Michael Carr shared. “We look forward to utilizing our new organization to make sure that this event, along with all of the other activities that fall under DBF’s umbrella, remain free to attend and also that they are responsive to our community’s needs and wishes.”

The Downtown Boise selection committee will choose two non-profit organizations to serve at events each in exchange for bar tips. Applicants will not be considered differently based off previous years of participation.

Information regarding what each non-profit organization is responsible for and must be able to supply, what Downtown Boise provides, the selection process, and how to apply is detailed in this document.

Letters of Application are due no later than 4 pm MST March 17, 2022.

The health and safety of our community remains our top priority, all 2022 events are dependent on local COVID-19 guidelines.
