The Virginia Faith & Freedom Coalition (VAFFC) today released the results of a recent poll the organization commissioned of 300 Republican Primary Voters in Virginia's 5th Congressional District. The results, where 70% of the respondents self-identified as very or somewhat conservative, confirmed that State Senator John McGuire has a significant lead of ten points over his opponent, Bob Good, in the June 18th primary contest.
State Senator John McGuire, who was recently endorsed by President Trump, also came out on top in the favorable vs. unfavorable category. Senator McGuire's favorable rating was 37% and unfavorable rating was 26% with 30% unsure. This was compared to an underwater rating of Congressman Good of 39% unfavorable to 31% favorable and 27% unsure.
The poll was conducted for VAFFC by WPA Intelligence and conducted over three days from June 2nd to June 4th. It consisted of likely Republican primary voters (86%); fifty-fifty planning to vote in the primary (9%) and those that have already voted in the GOP primary (6%). Respondents were balanced 50% male and 50% female with a cross section of age, education and residency in the congressional district. The poll had margin of error of +/- 5.6%.
