Looking for something to do? From now through September 8th, you can participate in the Westchester County Historical Society's (WCHS) 150th anniversary program: The WCHS History Hunt!

The WCHS History Hunt is a free program where folks can sample over 300 years of Westchester by visiting over 30 communities - using a free downloadable mobile app designed by Ossining-based Otocast. The app provides GPS-guided directions to each location - including a description, images, and an audio recording with a brief background.

Participants are given a simple task to prove they visited the site, often asking for an easily uploaded photograph to be taken.

The WCHS History Hunt is designed to be an inclusive and welcoming experience for all. As an added incentive, when the program ends in September, prizes will be presented to families or groups who complete the entire hunt and/or have highly creative entries. This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn about the history of Westchester and be part of a community-wide celebration of the WCHS's 150th anniversary!
