Mayor's Message

Dear Friends,

On any given weekend, there are a number of special events, festivals and gatherings that showcase our beautiful city. In just under two weeks, our city will host three completely unique, distinct and incredibly exciting festivals...all in one weekend! The O+ Festival, Italian Festival and the Forsyth Nature Center's Fall Festival will all take place the weekend of October 7th-9th. This incredible weekend of festivals will transform our streets and parks into central hubs of celebration, arts, music, culture, food and community. Whether you live in, work in or are just visiting Kingston for a long weekend, I encourage you all to explore our City and enjoy the festivities! Shuttles will be running all weekend and I expect to spend time at each of these special events. Join me for another great weekend in Kingston, N.Y.

Wurts Street Bridge to be closed for inspection
September 26th-30th

The Wurts St. bridge will be closed Monday, September 26th through Friday, September 30th, from 9:00am-3:00pm each day.

This closure is necessary in order for engineers contracted by the NYS Department of Transportation to inspect local and state-owned bridges in our region. The bridge will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, with traffic detoured to 9W during this inspection. Please plan accordingly.
Midtown Arts District featured at Business Alliance of Kingston

The joint meeting of the Business Alliance of Kingston and the Kingston Midtown Arts District last week was another excellent step forward for both groups. Local business owners, artists, elected officials and community members came together to learn more about the progress of the Midtown Arts District. This initiative will be further explored at the Celebration of the Arts event planned for Thursday, October 27th at 5:30pm at Broadway Commons (615 Broadway). The event will include the grand opening of "The Collective," a new arts and events venue at the site. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting community event!
