MAYOR DEMINGS' DIGEST

Season’s Greetings!

December has arrived on the heels of what I hope was a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday for everyone. It is hard to believe 2022 is almost behind us, as it was a year filled with many civic accomplishments but also its share of challenges. In particular, two late-season hurricanes caused misfortune for many local residents, so as we remember the things we are grateful for this holiday season, it is important to remember and be generous to those who have been less fortunate.

With that in mind, the Orange County Mayor’s Annual Toy Drive is celebrating 12 years of giving back to the community, and I am incredibly encouraged with your early response to this year’s initiative. The Toy Drive helps provide children and families in the County with much needed extra support to help make their holidays happy and bright. There is still time for you to help either with an online donation until Tuesday, December 6, or by dropping off toys in-person until Monday, December 12. Learn more at 2022 Toy Drive.

Our community calendar is filled with celebrations this month, with events such as the City of Orlando Tree Lighting (Dec. 2), Winter Park Christmas Parade (Dec. 3), Winter Garden Christmas Parade (Dec. 3), Holiday Pops at the Apopka Amphitheater (Dec. 10), and Chanukah Grand Community Festival (Dec. 18). Read below for more details.

I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season, and may 2023 bring us all joy and good fortune.

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Demings - Orange County Mayor
