Healthy You Classes & Events

NAMI Walks Lane County event

Join this free 5K walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Island Park (200 West B Street) in Springfield, Oregon to support mental health resources in our communities. There will be lots of family-friendly activities, such as face painting, raffles, food and more.


Prefontaine Youth Meet

Kids ages 7-14 are invited to compete in the PeaceHealth Youth Meet at the Pre Classic at 6 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene. Participants will earn a medal as they run, throw and jump in the footsteps of legends. Please register by Friday, May 17.


Dunes Safety event

Peace Harbor Medical Center Trauma Program and Western Lane Fire and EMS Authority are partnering for a day of fun and safety on the Oregon dunes, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Meet our local trauma response teams. See a dunes medical response rig. Learn about other ATV safety features. Enjoy snacks, prize raffles and more at Goose Pasture OHV Staging Area in Florence, Oregon.


HEARTsafe Meeting

For anyone who has survived or been impacted by sudden cardiac arrest, HEARTsafe Eugene/Springfield and PeaceHealth host a support group that meets from 4 to 5 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is Tuesday, May 28. In-person attendees meet in room 200CD at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. Virtual attendees can email heartsafe@peacehealth.org for the link.


Heart Walk & Talk

A free monthly walking group led by the heart-health experts at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute meets 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month. Mark your calendar to join us next month on the path behind the emergency department at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.


Diabetes Support Group 

Mark your calendar to join this group for people with diabetes and their support persons from 5 to 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute’s demonstration kitchen in Springfield. For questions or to sign up, send an email to cjacobson3@peacehealth.org


Stroke Support Group

Life after a stroke isn't easy. Talking to others who have been through a stroke may help. Mark your calendar to join one or both of the support groups offered by PeaceHealth:

  • First Wednesday of every month. This meeting offers various speakers and an opportunity to connect with other stroke survivors. 2 to 3:30 p.m. The group meets in person.
  • Third Wednesday of every month. A social support meeting to share stories by stroke survivors and caregivers. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Currently, meeting virtually.
