We have some exciting news to share about the progress our students at Fun Time Early Childhood Academy have made this year.

We use Teaching Strategies Gold to measure and track our students' development in key areas and are thrilled to report that our students continue to make great strides.

On average, our students scored in the 87th percentile for language and 80th literacy development, and 88th percentile for math and science. We are especially proud of our students' growth in social-emotional development, where they scored in the 97th percentile. We believe that creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment is essential to helping our students develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally.

We will continue to use Teaching Strategies Gold school-wide to track our students' progress and adjust our curriculum and teaching strategies as needed to support their growth and development.

We are especially proud of our voluntary prekindergarten students, who achieved an average score of 88th in math on the state FAST assessment.

These scores are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students, as well as the support of our families and community. We look forward to continuing to share our students' progress with you in the future. Your continued support and partnership help our students achieve their full potential.

As we prepare for the summer, we are pleased to announce that we will be offering summer programming to keep our students engaged and learning during the break. Our donor and community support have helped make these programs possible, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to enrich the lives of the children in our community. We are committed to providing the best possible learning experiences for our students.

Warm regards,

Parent & Child Event at the C'MON Museum
The Golisano Children's Museum of Naples (C'MON) hosted an unforgettable celebration party for our graduating VPK children, brimming with lively dancing, engaging painting sessions and delightful playtime.

Families and children came together to create cherished memories during the museum's complimentary admission event, and at the end of the evening, one lucky family received a one-year museum membership!

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)
The VPK program is a free prekindergarten program for four- and five-year-olds who reside in Florida. Participating children must be four years of age on or before September 1. Parents can enroll their children in the state’s free voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) education program that year or wait until the following year when their children are five.

You will also need to upload:

  • Proof you live in Florida (utility bill, bank statement, etc.)
  • Your child’s birth certificate or passport

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) gives children a jumpstart by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. By developing the skills that children need to become strong readers and students at an early age, our students are more likely to be successful as they continue in school.

Our two VPK classrooms at Fun Time Academy offer a high-quality program that includes literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curricula, small class sizes and qualified teachers. The school-year program includes 540 hours of instructional time and begins in August.
Healthy Earth - Garden Outside
This year's journey began on day one of our garden's recovery after the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian. We are immensely grateful for our partnership with The Healthy Earth Organization, which assisted us in revitalizing this once-thriving garden.

This is a place where children cultivate vegetables and actively participate in the planting process. This exercise not only provides them with a nurturing experience but also imparted valuable lessons on the preservation of our precious natural surroundings. With their help, we have breathed new life into this beautiful garden, ensuring its future blossoms with abundance and vitality. 🌸
Stewie The Duck
Stewie the Duck Water Safety Training is an incredibly valuable program aimed at educating children about water safety in a fun and engaging way!

This interactive initiative features Stewie, an adorable duck character, who serves as a knowledgeable guide, teaching children essential water safety skills to prevent accidents and promote safe practices.

Ms. Analiz, our VPK teacher, captivated our attention by reading us the story of Stewie the Duck. We were enthralled as we learned the importance of adult supervision, the significance of wearing proper flotation devices and the need to be aware of water hazards.

We were also taught vital skills such as swimming with a buddy, entering water feet first and recognizing various water safety signs.

At the end of the session, we all joined together in singing a lively song, adding to the excitement and making it great fun! Stewie the Duck Water Safety Training successfully combines learning with fun, empowering our children with the knowledge and skills to stay safe in and around water.

Spotlight on Connie Fafpka!

This year, Connie Fafpka began her volunteering journey at Fun Time Academy, and her dedication truly shone. When picture day arrived, she generously offered her assistance, bringing with her a wealth of creativity and a genuine connection with the children.

Connie's ability to engage with the kids is remarkable, as she brings along special materials and books to make the day even more memorable. Her presence at Fun Time Academy has made a positive impact, and we are grateful for her invaluable contributions to nurturing and inspiring the children.
Reading Volunteers Needed
We all know that early education is a key factor in preparing children for kindergarten. Reading to children contributes to the growth of their verbal skills while giving them the opportunity to bond with a caring adult.

We need volunteers to read books with preschool-aged children once a week to further their learning experiences. Everything is provided for volunteers (ELLM Bags, with books, props, lesson plan and other materials). Our children love interacting with our volunteers, who help them read stories, complete academic activities and even head outside to our garden.

Please consider getting involved. Contact us to schedule a tour or visit our website to learn more.
