The 23rd annual Caritas Awards Gala benefiting The Brothers of Mercy was another big hit on May 9 with 400 people filling the banquet center at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens! This year’s honorees were recognized for their contributions to the greater Buffalo community and included The Network in Aging, the behind-the-scenes support team at The Brothers of Mercy and Amy Betros, co-founder of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy. The event, hosted by emcees, John Di Sciullo of WBZZ and Domenic Cortese of Cortese Construction, featured a live auction, reverse raffle and gift-card raffle.


Next up on the Wellness Campus is our Centennial Music Series with live bands performing July 11, 18 & 25. Mark your calendars for Friday, September 6 for the annual “Oktoberfest” 5K race and party featuring delicious food, German beer and authentic music!

The Brothers of Mercy will have an information table at the annual Senior Health & Fitness Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 22 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Clarence Town Park Clubhouse at 10405 Main St. Come out to meet some of our staff and learn more about our Campus facilities, services & Foundation special events!

On April 19, staff gathered with Dr. Michael Noe, a member of the Board of Directors, on the 4th floor East Rehab wing in the Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center to unveil a plaque in honor of his wife Paula S. Noe. Thank you Dr. Noe for your generous spirit & leadership!

On April 17, our staff hosted the annual Volunteer Recognition luncheon at the Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Thank you to our volunteers for everything they do to help residents & staff! Congratulations to Alice Sosa (pictured on left below) for being named Volunteer of the Year! Since January 2021, she has served more than 700 hours of transporting residents and patients, delivering mail, visiting with residents and assisting at special events. We are always looking for more volunteers. Click here to learn more.

To commemorate Arbor Day, our staff transplanted Blue Spruce trees to their new home along the Bergtold Road entrance between Trier Woods Apartments & the Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center. By spreading them farther apart from other locations on our Campus, they will have more room to flourish in the future!
