If you have made a collaborative connection, let me know so that you can be featured and get some recognition for your business or organization!

Brewed. A Coffee Shop is working with Down With Mylestones to help achieve their goal of building an all inclusive playground in our community for children with differently-abled needs. They are going to need a lot of support with this effort! If you or your business or organization would like to contribute in any way, please contact Lisa Hill at downwithmylestones@gmail.com.

A warm Chamber welcome to The Little Redd Farm! Kyle and Hanna Redd operate this little slice of heaven at their homestead on Eulrich Rd. (just off Hwy 156). They offer fresh raised, locally processed, pork products by the pound. Looking for breakfast sausage (*the apple-cinnamon is fantastic), bacon, bacon ends, brats, Italian sausage by the pound, links, pork chops, you name it, they've got it! And the best part is that it is grown and produced right here in our community! They also offer farm fresh eggs, natural dog treats, and suet for our feathered friends. They are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They also are a vendor at our Farmer's Market in the summer! Give them a call at 406-239-5243 and they will meet you out by the Redd shed!

A warm Chamber welcome to Boo Boo's Crew, Inc./May Festival! This festival was created in memory of Abigail Hoier, who unexpectedly passed away in January of 2021. She was a young girl, full of love, happiness and smiles and her "crew" wanted a way to keep her happiness and spirit going through others. Every year the May Festival consists of carnival rides, games, food vendors, activities and live bands. All proceeds go towards a scholarship given to a New London graduating senior that has struggled either with school, family life, or mental health, but no matter what still pushes through to make themselves proud.

Besides May Festival, they do other things to support the area communities. Every year on May 1st they deliver 150 - 200 little flower buckets to doorsteps as a random act of kindness for May Day and that's also how they celebrate Abby's birthday, which is that day. They donate funds to support those who may need headstones, or funeral expenses.

During Christmas, they do a Sock Drop at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King by donating a few socks and hygiene items. They have also done a Shoe Drive for the local schools by donating shoes, gloves and hats. Every year they drop carnations and small candy bags at St. Joseph Residence for the residents to enjoy in an Easter basket.

Their goal as a crew is to make everyone know that no matter how hard life can get, there is always someone out there who cares.

Help us in supporting Boo Boo's Crew as they spread kindness everywhere!

Welcome to Pigeon Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District Monthly Email Update – April, 2024.

The First Official Draft of the Lake Management Plan public comment period has closed and we were very pleased to see such strong support from Waupaca Co. Our County Conservationist, Brian Haase, has plenty of experience with our watershed and with development and implementation of 9 Key Element plans. In fact, Brian has already started exploring some grant opportunities that could provide significant financial support to some long-term initiatives to improve our lake.

Unfortunately, our March 4th meeting (postponed February meeting) was also cancelled, but on March 20th we had a long and productive meeting with plenty of public comment. On April 24th we will have a Special Meeting (6:00pm) to address an amendment to the 2024 budget, followed by our regular board meeting. Note that this meeting will be held at the Clintonville Community Center. All welcome!

Spring Planting Party: we have tentative dates for the Spring Planting of native emergent plants to enhance our fish nursery habitat. The nursery will have the plants ready for pick up in mid-May – so we are aiming to plant on the weekend of May 18th or 25th. More details to come!

We are looking forward to the Ruff Fish Tournament on July 13th and are partnering with the CAST (Clintonville Area Swim Team) who will hold a fish fry after the event.

We have presented the proposed self-service Kayak/Paddleboard Rental Kiosk to the City Council. There is a lot of positive support for this initiative which will increase the recreational opportunities on Pigeon Lake. More to come on this!

Our DNR Water Biologist has agreed to participate in our planned educational series – mainly for the Riparians. If you are interested in attending and have a topic you’d like to discuss, please send us an email with your ideas.

HELP WANTED:

·      We are in the process of seeking, hiring and training a new “weedcutter” operator. Interested?

·      Do you know anyone who would like to be involved in water sampling? At least once a month – training will be provided.

·      Any other volunteers – we will be creating several working committees and would love to put your talents to work.

For any of these, just drop us a quick email (pigeonlake54929@gmail.com) or phone call (715- 853-0077).
