Catching Up with Yvonne

Warm weather YES. Love it.

We have implemented a “Lunch Box Buddy Program” to help end hunger for children this summer. School is out for some, and others will be out in June. With that means the Lunch Box Buddy Program will be increasing and become much more important for our school children. The program is already on the rise.

There are several ways you can help!

  • Hold a Food Drive to collect the non-perishable items in our lunch boxes. Bountiful Harvest will provide collection boxes and fliers/posters for your event.
  • Donate items to go in lunch boxes, such as: snacks, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Spaghetti O’s, Mac n Cheese, etc.
  • Sponsor one or more “Lunch Boxes” a month.

For more information, please check out the Lunch Box Buddy Program on our website.

We have kept the pantry closed to clients coming in due to how much we have grown and outgrown the pantry building. We are in tight quarters and in order to have the food and clothes available we have had to remain closed.

We are in desperate need of the following:

Tuesday: Grocery shopping (in our building), check out.

Wednesday: Kitchen, Grocery shopping (in our building), check out.

Thursday: Kitchen, Grocery shopping (in our building), check out.

Friday: 1 Driver, Front Desk both shifts, Grocery shopping (in our building), check out.

Saturday Morning: Front Desk, Grocery Shopping (in our building), check out the Saturdays that kitchen help is needed.

As you will notice a resounding need for Kitchen help is needed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the last Saturday of the month.

Please help us keep our meals going out for the seniors, shut-ins, homeless and veterans. For questions on volunteering, you can call the office, or sign up to volunteer online!

We want to thank EL Arbol for the terrific fundraiser on Cinco De Mayo. If you haven’t been there yet, make plans to get there as soon as possible. Their food is totally mouth-watering and fun.

We will be closed on Saturday, May 27, 2023 for Memorial Weekend and July 1 - July 4 for the Independence Day Holiday.

God Bless,
