Celebrate youth voice through original spoken word poetry at Hampton Roads is Louder Than a Bomb, TWP's 1st Middle School Poetry Event! Through HEAR THIS, a school-based, poetry and literacy program currently being implemented by Teens With a Purpose at Bayside Middle School and Lakewood Academy for Discovery, young writers, rappers and story tellers learn to refine their voice and to publicly
present their work. On May 6th, come hear poets from these clubs as they are showcased along with middle school poets from the 2016 Hampton Roads Youth Poets Slam Team. The HRYP Slam Festival, was open to both High School and Middle School students.
During this historic event, the new Hampton Roads Youth Poet Laureate will be announced!

2016 FUSE Festival featuring the Life is Living Experience is a community festival created to provide a continuous experience which promotes reciprocal exchange between members of the community where they advocate for themselves involving a vast and diverse segment of the population through community partners and artistic collaborations, this effort will maximize community participation as well as cross sector partnership. Festival will highlight all that is beautiful in the community through live music, arts, culture, crafts, interactive fun, food and more! Come witness The Human Experience Exhibit which is a multi-media art exhibit. This rendition of the voice and heart of the people, and their experience will be on display. The festival will also include Art and Cultural Workshops; Health Awareness & Screenings, Food, Arts & Craft Vendors. Sponsored by the City of Norfolk and Youth Speaks. Help to make sure you leave your mark on this community festival.

The Gathering Mondays from 5:30p-7:30p * Ages 12-19
Make new friends, develop your talents, become a leader. Join TWP each Monday for this free gathering. Participants receive incentives for volunteerism and community edutainment.
Poetry Workshops Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30p * Ages 12-19
Designed to encourage critical thinking and creative expression in literary arts and performance. Youth will explore the written and oral traditions of poetry and writing.
Just AART Music Workshops Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30p * Ages 12-19
Just AART Just AART is a new arts and technology component of TWP. Learn to create positive music, rap, poetry and videos as both a performer and the engineer behind the technology that makes it all happen. DJ'ing 101 is currently offered.
Every Monday check out the FNV (Fruit N' Veggie Truck) at the VCM Teen Center for fresh and tasty fruits and vegetables. Monday's 6:30-7:30pm
