Thanks to all who attended our 15th Annual Spring Tucson Trunk Show. So many wonderful stones found new homes. The auditorium was filled with all the new inventory we’ve been collecting for the past 3 months and now we will start distributing what’s left to fill the store and put into back stock. The quick trip we took to Tucson to say "hi" to our vendors and purchase inventory we still needed was quite a success. It was great to see everyone again plus we were able to pick up some end-of-show deals that we will be able to pass on to you just as soon as we are able to process this new batch of goodies. Look for specials highlighting Pink Amethyst, slices of Watermelon Tourmaline in Quartz, Prehnite clusters, Natural Aquamarine and Kunzite crystals and some fabulous new jewelry to name a few selections coming soon.
The month of May brings us Cinco de Mayo , a day of celebration for Mexican independence. Everyone be sure to party responsibly please! Then, on May9th we get to celebrate Mother’s Day, and let me remind you that we have some of the best and most unique Mother's Day gifts available. A gift certificate for mom could be just what makes her day and they are available online if you can’t make it into the store. Remember to pay tribute and recognize all our military branches on May 15, Armed Forces Day, and an extra special commemoration and remembrance of all who have lost their life while in service protecting our freedoms on Memorial Day, May 31. In December 2000 there was a National Movement of Remembrance established encouraging everyone to observe a moment of respect and silence at 3:00 PM in honor of all who have lost their lives in battle, so let’s all take a moment at 3 o’clock and respectfully and collectively honor these lost souls.
With the COVID pandemic becoming more manageable, soon we will be opening up our auditorium for special events again. Due to some restrictions we may not be able to provide as large events as in the past, but we will be able to at least offer some new activities to entertain yourselves with. We have also had some new developments in our Online Store this past month. We have added a new team member, Lauren who will be helping with our online shipping and inventory and we purchased new studio photography equipment to bring you even more accurate color and detailed pictures of all the minerals we offer online.

March UPDATES: COVID-19 Safety Protocols
|
|
UPDATE 05/01/2021: With Travis County downgrading COVID to Stage 3, Nature's Treasures has decided to expand our capacity and welcome back our Practitioners while remaining safe. Despite growing immunity, we recognize that there is still concern of potential exposure to COVID for many, so we will continue to do our best to keep our Nature's Treasures Family, including you, safe. Please see below for changes to our capacity and protocols this month.
Through the month of MAY, we will continue to operate with adjusted procedures and limited capacity. We are increasing our capacity to 80 customers in the combined Retail Showroom and 18 customers in the Rock Depot/Yard. When Austin/Travis County drops to Stage 2 and 1 (click HERE for the current tracker), we will increase our capacity according to the Risk-Based-Guidance found HERE. The Retail Showroom entrance/exit will return to the double doors next to our Rose Quartz Boulder, and the Depot will continue to maintain a separate entrance/exit.
With the CDC stating that COVID is not likely transmitted through touching previously touched items, we will no longer require hands to be sanitized upon entry/exit. We will still have gloves and hand sanitizer at the door available upon request. We will also have 1 restroom available for customer use.
We will continue to require masks to cover nose/mouth at all times. No food or drink will be allowed inside the building. ONLY service animals for disabilities will be allowed in the building and does not extend to therapy or emotional support animals.
For your safety, green lines have been drawn outside indicating where to physical distance while waiting for entry. Once inside, blue lines indicate where to wait to be helped at the counter while physical distancing. Avoid the crowds, waits and lines by coming on the WEEKDAYS. Our doors open at 11:00a and close at 5:50p!
Please remember we have updated procedures. Returns/exchanges are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please e-mail michaelk@ntrocks.com with your receipt number and item you wish to return to schedule your return/exchange so we can get everything together in advance and reserve a spot for you.

Heather's Memorial Fundraiser
for Austin Wildlife Rescue
Friday, May 14th
|
Many of you have noticed Heather's absence from the store beginning in December of 2020. To honor the family and stay in harmony with her family, we have waited until now to announce that Heather did indeed pass away. We will have a memorial corner set up in our lamp room on Friday, May 14th for those who wish to pay their respects or write a note to Heather's family. The memorial photo and notes will be delivered to the family at her Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 15th.
For those of you who did not know Heather as well, she was a bubbly and compassionate individual who was not a stranger to struggling and rising from the ashes. Those of you who knew her might remember the personal significance of her Phoenix tattoo or recall her deep love for Luna, her dog. In order to continue to care for the animals that Heather so dearly cherished, we have decided to donate 20% of our in-store proceeds on Friday, May 14th to the Austin Wildlife Rescue in Heather's name.
We Miss You, Heather!

Featured Agate - Black River Agate
|
This is a Black River agate from Entre Rio Provence, Argentina. The agate is found in gravel bars in a few rivers in this area but the Entre Rio is the most productive location for the stone.
Believed to have formed about the same time as Brazilan agate this would make them from the Permian age about 275 million years ago. It is a stone that has lovely tones of brown, cream and white banding. Often displayed as whole stones due to the banding being visible on the outside of the nodule. When displayed as whole nodules they are often rubbed with mineral oil to give them a nice luster.
This is a new agate to the Nature's Treasures Rock Depot and we hope you enjoy it!

Featured Fossil -Belemnites
Belemnites are an extinct group of squid-like cephalopods that existed around 65 million years ago. Unlike squid, belemnites had an internal skeleton. The name Belemnite, is from the Greek word Belemnon which means dart or javelin, due to the distinct shape of the calcified remains, referred to as the guard. They were believed to have had a pair of fins and 10 hooked arms used for catching prey. Some Belemnites adapted to open ocean and swam extremely fast and other types lived more in shore, within calmer waters. In common folklore tales, the Belemnites were formed from the point of strike of a lightning bolt, into the ground and developed the nickname “Thunderbolts.” The Belemnite is believed to aide in getting to the root of any problem and much like the shape of the guard, could act as a compass to offer protection and point you in the right direction.

Hi Everyone!
I am Linda, the host and creator of The Healing Arts Festival & Market,
a bi-monthly event in San Antonio that features the best in Texas of holistic and organic products, practitioners and services. Our amazing partnership with Nature's Treasure of Texas in Austin, has afforded us tremendous success in our ability to offer various natural, healing modalities to people from across our state who visit our shows. Shows this month include our flagship event on May 2nd in Live Oak, Texas, our showcase event at The Rim on May 16th and our Austin Exhibition at Nature's Treasures on May 29th. We are excited for you to join us, meet our community and support Nature's Treasures!
Today, I am so happy to have the opportunity to write to you all in this newsletter. Michael, the manager of Nature's Treasures reached out to me and asked me to share something you might enjoy. As I sat to write down something witty or funny, my heart simply kept going back to expressing gratitude to you all for your support of our shows and the store, Nature's Treasures.
It is much more than just appreciation for your business or shopping with us. It actually has nothing to do with business at all. I am speaking of the genuine caring and love, we have for each of you. The month of May celebrates Mary, the Divine Mother, the spirit of love, nurturing and unity. It is the spirit we invoke upon all the things we call beloved in our lives. And as we take account of all the outward things or people who bear the name of beloved to us, I would like to ask you today...What is your name? Who are you?
Linda, The Festival, Michael, Nature's Treasures, we all bear the name bestowed to us in love and victory. Yet today we want to know, what is the divine name you are bestowing upon yourself? Is it Love? Is it Healing? Joy, Prosperity, Courage, Protection, Peace, Forgiveness? What name will you claim for yourself? Who are you, in your authentic Self. You are Love, Joy, Healing, Peace, Unconditional, Unlimited.
This month of May, I call you, to your Authentic Self. How fun would it be that every time you walk into the store or into one of our events, you joyfully tell us your name! Tell us who you are, your authentic Self. Because we would love to know you. And we would love to love you!
Our wish for you is Love!
