One Year Down!

It is hard to believe my first year with you is almost over. Being able to share with you has been scary and exciting! This year, as part of my internship experience, we’ve been focusing on my time in the pulpit. It has been so rewarding to be able to be a part of the service team and to share my thoughts with you.

This coming year will bring some additional time in the pulpit, but my focus will be on you. As you know I am now living in Brunswick so I can be closer to both congregations. This allows me to be a bigger part of congregational life. I look forward to joining committees and community groups in both locations. I also look forward to bringing the skills I’ve learned in my CPE experience at Emory Decatur Hospital into our congregations in the form of more pastoral care for all of us.

This coming year will also mean I will be sharing with you my leadership project that is a part of my seminary formation. More to come on that, but in a nutshell, I am looking forward to finding ways to share some of what we do best as UU’s in an interfaith way in both locations.

I am so thankful for all the ways you’ve welcomed me. Thanks to everyone who has helped me this year by giving me a bed to lay my head, movie nights, dinner and just getting to know you. It’s been a wonderful start and I look forward to exploring new ways to be engaged with all of you.

Thank you so much and here’s to another amazing year to come.

In Faith,

Randy

Need a ride to Medical Appointment? Georgia Southern’s Trusted Rider Program offers transportation services to older adults, assisting them in reaching their non-emergency medical appointments and back home after the completion of their visit. The program is run by student volunteers who have undergone background checks and training to ensure they provide the best possible service to the clients involved.

Chiamaka Ogwara is the program’s community liaison and reached out to raise awareness about the program with hopes to get referrals from older adults who may be interested in the program or may have the need for it.

If you have any questions of would like to learn more about the program, contact them via phone at: 912-478-0712 (office phone) and email co06587-sw@georgiasouthern.edu
