Dear Friends,
Did you catch it? Our Photography Show was just amazing! Our photographers wanted their own show and we had a show! The Old Murdock Senior Center's auditorium has beautiful architectural woodwork. Soon, we will have some photos of the show on our website to share. The May Day Basket Workshop was a BIG hit; we had to do three workshops. Thanks to the Winchendon Cultural Council's grant that helped with the cost of the materials. Now we are preparing for our big Spring Show and it is going to be big this year! We have several new artists and looking forward to seeing the show!
We have been getting many questions from artists on how to write an artist statement. I think we should plan on having a class on how to write an artist statement at some point. Anyone want to volunteer to give a class who is knowledgeable in this area?
Saturday, June 3rd. The Winchendon Garden Club will be on our outside lawn selling plants and will have vendors selling arts and crafts. Our house will be open. If you are interested in selling your arts and crafts we will be setting up inside. No booth fees. If you are interested, let me know to schedule space for you. Call 978-407-1419.

Saturday, June 10, 10 am to whenever - Rhododendron State Park, Fitzwilliam, NH
Rhododendron State Park is named after its unusual 16-acre grove of wild rhododendron. The rhododendron grove, which is the largest in northern New England, was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1982. A 0.6 mile-long universally accessible trail encircles the grove and a wildflower trail winds through the forest adjacent to the grove. From early spring to the first frost, wildflowers bloom throughout the park. Visitors exploring the trails are often serenaded by song birds which live in the grove.

GALA Renovations Update
|
In response to the February GALA newsletter, we were delighted to see some participation in the GoFundMe campaign. Thanks! We will use these funds to make GALA's space truly special: lighting system, flooring, artwork hanging supplies, and sound equipment for our musicians.
A boost now would enable us to finance the improvements in time for our good weather open season. If 100 people donate $10, that gets us $1,000 closer. Any amount helps! For this campaign, use this link, GoFundMe, or if you prefer, mail a check to GALA, PO Box 664, Gardner, MA 01440, with GALA Arts Gallery Project in the subject line.
See a photo gallery of our project. Spread the word and help us reach this goal for 2017!
