OCEAN FREIGHT: THE FREIGHT OF AFFAIRS
|
In our last newsletter, we wrote about the impact on ocean freight and how it's affecting lead times and costs. It’s no secret that the world is facing logistical issues no one ever thought were possible. The current situation has surprised even the most seasoned veterans in International Freight Forwarding.
Some of the issues taking the ocean freight industry by storm:
|
|
- Bottle neck of container ships off the coast of most American ports.
- Supply of empty containers not meeting the demand at almost every major port worldwide.
- Ripple effect of the Suez canal blockage both in delays and increased ocean costs worldwide.
During these incredibly tough times, ARP will work hard to put your mind at ease. We promise our customers ultimate transparency and visibility with everything that transpires - from the manufacturers' door to your facility. We can offer:
- Increased communication with you regarding your forecasts and future needs.
-
Proactively ordering material and increasing reorder points to build a larger safety stock in case of further unforeseen delays.
- More storage on our warehouse floors for JIT delivery.
- Sharing of real-time vessel tracking.
- Building a larger ocean/rail port network to offer more options and decreased travel time.
Since we are in the business of efficiently moving material, trust us to use the tools we have in place to not only deliver your product, but to also deliver the best experience possible.
