Last Friday, Duquesne University's Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom hosted Bishop Canevin's Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremony. The Class of 2023, Bishop Canevin's 61st graduating class, has now joined the ranks of our school's proud and distinguished alumni. This outstanding group continued Bishop Canevin's tradition of excellence in and out of the classroom, distinguishing itself in a manner consistent with Bishop Canevin's holistic mission.
  • 30% of class was inducted into the National Honor Society
  • 63% of the class earned High Honors Academic Distinction during their time at BC
  • 57% of the class graduated with over a 4.0 GPA
  • 53% of the class was part of a WPIAL Champion Athletic Program
  • The valedictorian of the Class of 2023 earned perfect attendance
  • The recipient of the St. Timothy Award for Outstanding Service to the Community was awarded to a student who volunteered hundreds of hours coaching youth with physical disabilities

During their BC journey, this class was enhanced by the addition of 14 students who transferred at various times becoming valuable classmates, teammates, and housemates. As impressive as the accomplishments listed above, most importantly this class was guided by Bishop Canevin's pillars of Faith, Community, Lifelong Learning, Pursuit of Passions, and being 'Persons for Others.' Whether they realized it or not, they served as outstanding role models to younger students to ensure the Bishop Canevin standard remains the same.

Regardless of future plans for travels these students are prepared for life's challenge, prepared to do whatever is needed, and ready to serve those most in need!
