USBC was a proud sponsor and participant in the 3rd annual Roll X Rosarito Children's Day Parade. Thanks to the outpouring of support USBC received in response to President Diego Knight's "President's Challenge Toy Drive" we raised over $600 in donations from our members and were able to purchase and contribute almost 500 toys, including the 30 toys members donated. Mario Moreno, organizer of the parade was extremely grateful for USBC's toy donations which brought the total number of toys handed out to over 800!

USBC extends heartfelt gratitude to the following individuals whose generosity and support helped us achieve our goal of brightening the lives of countless children in Rosarito this Children's Day weekend:

Sharon Collins - Linda Denniston - Wayne Denniston - Omar Enciso - Alan Goldin Robin Gunther - Jim Henshaw - Kit Kaplan - Diego Knight - Grace Liciaga Gabrielle Lucas - Dee Dee Martinson - Jim McMurray - Larry Norman

Grace Paniagua - Chris Parks - Carl Rossman - Irina Rudnitsky

Michelle Towner - D'Marie Warzecha - anonymous donors

We also want to acknowledge the USBC members who joined in the parade festivities, helped hand out toys and took photos & videos:

Other Events This Month

Labor Day - May 1st

In Mexico, Labor Day, or "Día del Trabajo," is celebrated on May 1st. It's a public holiday that honors the contributions of workers and their labor movements. The day is marked by various events, including parades, marches, and speeches by labor leaders and government officials.

May 1st has historical significance as a day to commemorate the labor movement worldwide, particularly the struggle for workers' rights and the eight-hour workday. In Mexico, it's a day to recognize the efforts and achievements of workers across the country and to advocate for continued improvements in labor rights and conditions.

The holiday is also a time for workers to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Many businesses, schools, and government offices are closed on Labor Day, allowing people to participate in festivities or simply take a break from work.

Boxing - May 4th

The company Urbaneja Boxing Promotions in co-promotion with Promociones Espinosa will carry out a boxing function called "WAR IN THE BAJA" on Saturday, May 4th at the Baja California Center in Rosarito Beach.

Nine fights are estimated with the quality and talent these two companies bring to boxing lovers. Free parking and general admission prices of $200 pesos. In addition with your ticket you can enjoy on a giant screen the fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez against Jaime Munguía.

They will also have the presence of two-time World Champion Kenia Enriquez

Mega Mixer - May 5th

The Chamber of Commerce in Ensenada is inviting All Foreign Residents in Rosarito and surrounding areas to a Mega Mixer, on Sunday

There will be music, dancing, Beer and Wine tasting as well as free samples from a variety of local cuisine. Local residents from various countries will have a table with items from their original home countries on sale or display.

This is Ensenada's way of saying THANK YOU to all foreign residents for choosing Baja as their new home or Part time residence.

Mother's Day - May 10th & 12th

Mexican Mother's Day, celebrated on May 10th, is a time for families to honor and appreciate mothers. It's marked by gifts, flowers, special meals, and gatherings, highlighting the strong familial bonds and the importance of maternal figures in Mexican culture. It's worth noting that in the USA, Mother's Day falls on May 12th this year, offering an opportunity for families in both countries to express their love and gratitude for mothers everywhere.
