Message from Our President

What a wonderful Spring we are having! It reminds me of renewal and growth as I pull and cut all the dead plants/trees of winter, and now watch the new blooms and new plantings grow.

Women InSpirit, Inc. is also feeling growth and renewal!

With the generosity of our donors in 2022, we are able to support additional girls and young women with their education and livelihood in 2023! We expanded one of our sewing schools, JayNii Streetwise Fashion School in Jamestown near Accra, from 6 students to 12. We are able to support 4 additional young women at KNUST in Kumasi this year. And we are supporting an additional girl with her high school education in Cape Coast, and an additional young woman in college in Accra.

Our girls are so incredibly thankful for the opportunities they are being given by Women InSpirit.

We will be sending out letters very soon requesting your financial assistance once again this year. For those of you who are not on our mailing list, but receive our Newsletters, we ask you – all of you – for either a first-time commitment or a RENEWAL of your support to Women InSpirit, Inc. No amount is too small or too large and every gift makes a difference in the lives of those we support. Please visit our website to make a tax-deductible donation today. We are only able to do what we do with the support of our donors.

We continue to pray for each of you and we ask for your prayers in return. Blessings to you and yours.

-Jennifer Appling

Congratulations to Ann Hamilton for winning our beautiful raffle at the Theresians of Fort Bend Day of Prayer on February 18. Enjoy your charcuterie board and accessories, Ann! We thank those who donated the raffle items.

Eight years ago, on February 13, 2015, Women InSpirit was incorporated. Going into our 9th year we couldn't be prouder of the blessings we've been able to gift to young women in Ghana. We are beginning to collect a long list of graduates from junior high, high school, college, and tailoring school. In April, one of our girls will be actually graduating with her Master's in Chemistry and is already working on her Doctorate! The successes of our girls is what we've always dreamed of. As always, we could not do this work without your generosity.

If we give to one person, we are doing God's work.

Meet Gladys

I am Gladys Ofosua Amoah, a third year student reading BSc. Physiotherapy at KNUST. (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology). I come from a family of four and I am the last born of my parents' children, By God’s grace, I completed High school successfully in the year 2019. I entered KNUST in the 2020. I am the only of my siblings to enter the university so my family is doing the best they can to support me. Because my dad is a single parent and a retired Teacher it has made my stay on campus a challenging one.

In this academic year 2022/2023, by God’s grace, WOMEN IN SPIRIT has put a smile on my face! Before I got support from WIS, my hostel fees and tuition remained unpaid. Now all that has been taken care of by WIS.

"I am very grateful to WIS. Now I am comfortable and have my peace of mind to concentrate on my studies. God bless you all at WIS." - Gladys
