According to his website, Millions have known Cledus T. Judd as the likable funny man who sings those witty parodies. Often called The "Weird Al" Yankovic of Country music, he's sold millions of records. His videos have been viewed millions and millions of times. He's won awards and hosted TV shows. He's toured with the biggest names in Country music such as Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn and many more (but who's name dropping?!?). But what his fans haven't known is that off stage he was a man fighting his own demons.
"My journey through life has been has been long and hard. So has most people's," says Cledus. "I was a lonely kid at times with a pretty tough upbringing. I failed miserably in my marriages and relationships. I have been a drug addict. I have been suicidal. I have been made fun of. I have been called a liar and a big dreamer. But one thing I never did was give up! God would not allow it!"
Cledus' new journey began in April 2014, when he was baptized. "I left 49 years of heartache, regret, addiction and resentment in four feet of water," he says. It continued Christmas that year when Cledus decided to retire from music and focus on using his story to help others who are fighting the same battles he fought. He wants to share his experiences with others and encourage them to never give up.
