This week, the City addressed damaged streets with chip seal work as part of our annual slurry project. Chip seal involves applying a layer of asphalt followed by aggregate, enhancing road durability and safety. Starting next week, slurry seal work begins on various La Mesa streets, including those that received chip seal. Note that University Avenue, a busy thoroughfare, will be affected:

Key elements include enhanced transit stops, roundabouts at intersections, inviting public spaces, and improved streetscape. Coming soon: A vibrant addition to Collier Park! The City Council approved the concept design to be painted on a waste enclosure. Professional muralists from Art Reach San Diego will team up with youth to create a mural that reflects our community’s spirit. The concept design was inspired by community input and celebrates our native flora and fauna, harmonizing with the park’s natural beauty. Painting is scheduled for June. Stay tuned for updates!
