Annual Meeting Recap
Our Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 23rd, had over 35 members attend and help to chart the course for our upcoming year.  The body discussed, then approved the proposal to begin the work to convert to a 501(c)(3) organization. The amended Bylaws, new budget, and new slate were approved. Two new Lifetime members were added to our ranks: Leah Marcus and Nancy Staunton. Congratulations on 50 years of being a LWV OPRF member!
Congratulations to Marilyn Cantisano, our 2017 Hazel Hanson Awardee. You can read her bio here. After the business meeting, Dr. Susan Kern did a great job updating us on the Cook County Hospital System and it's sustainability into the future. Our new Board will be meeting on June 12 to have a transition meeting with the outgoing Board. Thanks to all the new members that stepped up and into Board positions. Welcome!
Day in Our Village
Stop by our League's booth on Sunday, June 4, in Scoville Park, Lake and Oak Park Ave. This annual village festival is a great way for us to meet and educate members of the community on our mission and programs. We will be raffling off a paid membership. Tell your friends and neighbors to stop by!
