A Message from Our VP of Academics & Ed Tech

Dear Carondelet Community,

It is always a bittersweet time of the year as we had graduation last week and said goodbye to an amazing group of seniors. The class of 2024 had 1,259 college acceptances and will attend 82 different colleges and universities in the fall. We wish them well as we welcome them into our prestigious Alumnae Association, which is now more than 12,000 members strong.

The rest of our students have one last week to go! This week we have finals to look forward to before everyone gets a well-needed break! Hopefully, everyone can have a restful Memorial Day weekend to get ready for the final push.

The PowerSchool portal will remain open after finals so students will be able to view their grades. It will take a couple of weeks to deal with any corrections and updates to make space for honors credits, math placement, or any pre-approved late submissions that result in a grade change. Therefore, transcripts for the year will be sent by June 14, 2024.

Preliminary schedules will be sent the week of June 10 in waves to avoid issues with daily email limits. For adjustments, students will be able to make an appointment to come meet with me from July 8 - July 19. All instructions on that process will be included in the email with the initial schedule.

Lots to look forward to!

Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D.

VP of Academics & Ed Tech

End of Year School Updates + Reminders

Attendance Updates

As we wrap up the second semester, we want to remind students and families of the importance of regular school attendance and proactive communication with our Attendance Office. Attendance is required during finals week and critical for closing out the semester, as all assignments and assessments must be completed on or before Friday, May 31. If your student will be missing finals, for any reason, please reach out to Nicole Ebert in Attendance as soon as possible.

Finals Dress Code

Students may wear Friday Dress during finals week. This is our everyday uniform with the additional option of leggings.

Locker Clean Out

School lockers must be cleaned out before the summer break. We encourage all students to keep their locks in a safe place at home over the summer to be used next year. If your student has questions about their locker location or lock combination, please have them connect with Stephanie Gutierrez.

Last weekend to donate to our Final Snacks. Sign up today!

We are still in need of many snacks for our students during their finals. Volunteers are still needed for Wednesday and Thursday as well. Please consider donating food items or coming to help out. Finals Snacks Sign Up

Pick up Your School Store Items

If you received an email, please pick up your Student Store order in the Convent stairwell. The Convent is open on Mon. - Fri., 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Keep those Uniform and Spiritwear Donations coming!

Now is the time to clean out those closets full of Carondelet gear. Please donate your used uniform pieces and spiritwear. All clothing must be clean, bagged, and in good condition. Donations can be dropped off in the Main Office. Thank You!

Yearbook Distribution

Final Distribution will take place Tuesday, May 28 from 11:25 AM to 2:00 PM in Studio 4.

Logging Summer Service Hours

Students who plan on doing community service at any time must log their hours immediately after the event. Any service hours completed over this summer (June-July) must be logged by August 15, 2024. To review other deadlines for logging service hours, check out the MobileServe page on the school website.

Fall Sports Tryouts and Athletics Clearance

Fall Sports tryouts will take place the week of August 12! Please make sure you have completed the Athletics Registration process and selected the fall sport you will be trying out for. Athletics registration for the 2024-25 school year will open on July 1 on AthleticClearance.com. This will ensure you are on the list provided to the coaching staff at tryouts.

Student Conduct Reminder

As we approach the summer break, we want to ensure our students are reminded of the expected behavior regarding technology use. Recent social media activity in our local community has prompted us to reinforce these guidelines.

Our student handbook clearly states that inappropriate use of technology includes using email, social media, or text messages to send inappropriate graphics, images, pictures, messages, or videos of individuals, and/or to defame, harass, threaten, or coerce anyone, both within and outside our community. Additionally, possessing or exchanging inappropriate images and videos may be illegal.

We ask for your support in discussing these guidelines with your daughter. Emphasize the importance of making safe, healthy, and appropriate decisions both in person and online. If you have questions about the student handbook, please email Caitlin Main, Dean of Students.

Special Memories for Our Senior Families...

Last week was filled with celebrations in honor of our 2024 graduates. 🎓 Our seniors and their families gathered on campus for a Baccalaureate Mass, which gave the Class of 2024 a final opportunity to celebrate liturgy together. The theme for the liturgy was “Adventure is out there”—to represent the journey of these students as strong young women who will pursue their hopes and dreams and change the world.  View Baccalaureate Mass Photos

Giving back to our dear neighbor...

Giving back to our dear neighbor...

The nonprofit Hijas del Campo, which translates to Daughters of the Field, visited campus recently to pick up tables, benches, and planters built by our Engineering for Social Good class, led by Miranda (Ripoli) Cozzone ‘06. Our partnership with this organization dates back to the 2021-22 school year when students designed, constructed, and donated a tiny house on wheels for farmworkers. We are proud to continue this partnership, and to support and care for our dear neighbor.
