Orations Showcase a Huge Success!
Recently, the entire 9th grade class finished Orations, a project in which they wrote and presented a speech on a topic of their choosing. Over the course of several months, students drafted, revised, polished, and memorized their speeches before delivering them via Zoom to faculty, staff, and other students at Pacific Ridge. This project culminated in a special Orations Showcase on May 20th, with one student from each section of English 9 presenting their speech to our school community. This year's speakers were Reese Walsh, Riva Rainier, Rafay Maker-Agha, Jarrah Newman, Elita Yang, Mykelle Brainard, Julian Mullen, and Connor Elmore. These students shared powerful messages on a variety of topics, all of which connected to their individual passions and experiences. Congratulations to the speakers, as well as the entire 9th grade class on a successful Orations season!
