Welcoming our

new Pro to TTC

Alle Banna

After a long search, we found our newest addition to the professional teaching staff at Timberhill. Alle Banna will start work at TTC in the second half of May. He just graduated from George Fox University, and is continuing to play NCAA tennis for the Bruins as they will compete in the NCAA team championships in mid-May. Alle is native to the PNW, growing up in Eugene and becoming a fixture on the junior circuit. Alle competed all four years while at George Fox, and taught lessons at the GFU facility during the school year, as well as at ESTC during the summers. So Alle will bring a great competitive background, teaching experience, and his trademark smile and enthusiasm to Corvallis and our club. He'll be in a full-time position, and will add value to our junior programs, fill a needed void for teaching private lessons and expanding our adult class and Parks and Rec offerings. When you see him around the club later this month, please introduce yourself and welcome him to the club! His personal message is below:

Hello, my name is Alle Banna and I was born and raised in Eugene Oregon. Throughout my life I have taken my tennis career very seriously, and because of this, it has produced many skills and life lessons that I want to pass on to all of my clientele, regardless of age or skill level.

A little about myself: I am a family man and have always put my family first above all else. They are my inspiration and my motivation day in and day out. I love hiking, nature, and a huge lover of all animals!

Through a lot of grit, discipline, passion, and competitiveness, these are my career highlights:

  • 4 Time NWC Champion with an overall team conference record of 37-0 over 4 years straight.
  • Elite 8 D3 NCAA & Sweet 16 D3 NCAA Nationally.
  • Beaten players from D1 colleges such as Idaho State University, Portland State University, Seattle University, Boise and many others throughout my career.
  • 2019 5A Oregon State Champion with an undefeated record.

Above all else, my greatest accomplishments will come from improving my clients' tennis game on the court and improving their overall health.

I am honored and blessed to be a member of the Timberhill Tennis community and look forward to building life-long relationships!

USTA Leagues

Signups and team registration is happening for the next leagues of 2024:

55+ MIXED ONE WEEKEND LEAGUE

HOSTED AT TTC

JUNE 7-9

League teams will form independently (not through the Club) for this event. So start picking some players and forming a team at 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, or 9.0! You'll have home court advantage, so this is one you won't want to miss!

Yonex Polytour Rev Spin

Yonex has been putting out some decent string lately, so we decided to bring one in. Their Polytour Spin string is an aggressive polyester with edges that help a fast swing to generate a ton of spin on the ball. While it doesn't stand out too much from a string like Lynx Tour, it will give you another option in that category. And it comes in a fun teal color!

From the Clubhouse

Hi Everyone

It continues to be a busy spring at the club! The HVAC system is done and functional. It'll be nice to have it in place when next winter rolls around, and the ventilation in 1-3 will be a great change as it warms up this summer. Also on the faciilities front, we've scheduled resurfacing and some minor leveling/court repair on courts 1-3 at the end of August. This is scheduled maintenance that happens to fall on this year (we resurface every 7-8 years, and courts 4-8 will be taken care of in 2025). We'll also be staining the wood exterior of the clubhouse and courts 1-3 this summer, likely in July. It's been about 20 years since this has been done, and some sections of the building are getting very weathered. These will be nice noticeable upgrades to the facilities, helping to keep them functional for the future.

On the programming side of things, a couple of things to save the date for. First is the annual club BBQ! This year it will be on Saturday, July 13 from 4pm - 7pm. So save the date and we'll send more info in June. Also mark your calendar for the first annual Timberhill Member Invitational, scheduled for the weekend of September 28-29. This will be a flagship event at the club that promises to be the "can't miss" event of the year. It will be a flighted doubles event that incorporates round robin matches, a mid-day skills challenge for cash prizes, a pro exhibition, a player dinner and a one-point singles tournament for a cash prize. We'll have player gift giveaways, beer and wine, and lots of fun tennis. So start rounding up your partner and look for more details in next month's newsletter!
