2024 THRIVE COHORT WELCOMES

NEW MEMBERS

On March 7, the 2024 Thrive Cohort gathered for the first time to build connections and look at the year ahead. This group of 11 Black, Brown and Bi-racial nonprofit professionals will meet regularly for relationship building, networking and intentional learning with local leaders. Each Cohort member’s organization will receive a $2,000 grant to support general operations. Thrive is part of the Community Foundation’s efforts to advance racial equity by helping nonprofit organizations close the racial leadership gap and diversify nonprofit staff and managerial teams. We have two months of peer groups until we take a little summer break, so make plans to attend in May and June. Mark your calendar for our next Nonprofit Know-How: Library Resources for Nonprofits on Wednesday, August 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library. The Iowa Nonprofit Alliance has announced plans to host the 2024 Iowa Nonprofit Summit on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at The Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids. Mark your calendars and watch for more information soon!

DUPACO FOUNDATION ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR NONPROFIT GRANT PROGRAM

The Dupaco Foundation Nonprofit Grant is a one-time financial contribution of up to $20,000 to support nonprofit organizations whose mission or programs directly further one of the Foundation's three Community Pillars: affordable housing and homeownership, upskilling and reskilling, or small business development. Application deadline is Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CST. More information here.

All groups are held in-person. Please register by the deadline so we can order your lunch. Lunch is provided at no cost. All peer group meetings are held at the Community Foundation office at 324 3rd Street SE, Cedar Rapids, on the first floor.
