From The Pastor..

Last month and into this month, our Wednesday night study has focused on what it means to be United Methodist. Since not everyone is able to take part in this, I wanted to share a small piece of what this four-week study has covered about what makes the United Methodist Church unique.

Like nearly all protestant denominations, we recognize two sacraments: Baptism and Communion.  A sacrament is a sacred ritual where a physical element represents God’s grace. Partaking in the sacraments is an outward and visible sign of an inward working of grace.

LITTLE LIGHTS PRESCHOOL

We have been practicing for our Preschool Graduation Program. It will be in the church at 10:30 on Sunday, May 5th. The preschoolers will be presenting songs, fingerplays, etc. that they have been learning throughout the school year.

We will be presenting diplomas to the following students: Everett Boisvert, Landyn Chesak, Paislee Gibbons, Banner Grezenko, Kasen Hochstedler, Stella Ingram, Indy Leszek, Quinn Madsen, Wyatt Russell, Callen Trusty, Jayden Hill, Morgan Lemon, Kori Maul, River Radtke & Evie Sanchez.

I hope they all remember that God loves them and is always watching over them.

Congratulations to all of our Little Lights!

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

Eleven UMW members met on Tuesday, April 9th, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville. We traveled to Parkview to be together with our dear member, Betty Whitenack, who lives there. Kathy Ward shared meaningful devotions and a delicious chocolate pie for dessert, as well as an encouraging financial report. We all joined in singing and visiting. Thank you to Parkview Haven for their hospitality and lovely meeting room! Our next UMW meeting is on Tuesday, May 14th, at 1:30 p.m., with program and refreshments by Kathryn Hanson. All women are invited!!!
