"My husband and I wish to thank the Ballad House, Cinco Charities and all who were involved with the vision and compassion to develop and complete a beautiful Hospital Hospitality house known as "The Ballard House."
When my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in September 2023 we immediately chose MD Anderson as his place of treatment. Having been chair of our local hospital board he had know the record of MD Anderson for decades.
When consulting with the medical staff during pretreatment workup we learned of the Ballard House and immediately filled out the application for admittance. We wish to thank Dr. Gregory Chronowski Professor of Radiation Oncologyat MDS Anderson, Katy, Texas. Because of Dr. Chronowski and his wonderful staff we were able to be admitted to The Ballard House for a two month stay in April and May of 2024.
Not only did we find The Ballard House to be beautiful, but also a home away from home. The staff, volunteers, and amenities were outstanding. Most important for us was the love, compassion and kindness shown by staff, volunteers and residents. Everyone we encountered were kind, loving and compassionate. The people of Katy, Texas are all kind and accepting of strangers, so it is no wonder that staff and volunteers are the same.
Because pleasant surroundings and caring people who become like family the two months passed quickly. During our stay we made many friends and kindred spirits some of whom will be in contact for years to come.
Many thanks to everyone, the volunteers of Katy, Texas, MD Anderson, The Ballard House, Cinco Charities, Dr. Chronowski and the volunteers from Katy, Texas. You made our stay here a true blessing that will forever be cherished.
