Dean Contreras delivers welcome address at CAP Forum

On May 1 & 2, UC Irvine hosted the annual CAP (College Access and Preparation) Forum, which serves as a convening of UC professionals to advance higher education access for all students ­– particularly first-generation, low-income and underserved students. Frances Contreras, UC Irvine School of Education dean and professor, gave the welcome address to hundreds of UC staff for the two-day event, themed “Transcending Together Through Collaboration, Innovation and Excellence.” The forum featured various sessions aimed at enriching outreach, student academic preparation, admissions, and educational partnership programs.
