Age-appropriate books are delivered directly to the homes of children, from birth to age 5.
It is approximately $25 a year per child. Currently, there are 800 children receiving books. United Way of Junction City/Geary County funds over $12,000 a year for the program.

Thank you to our Allocation volunteers and agencies for participating in the 2023 Allocation Process. Each year, agencies apply for funding from United Way of Junction City/Geary County. Community members come together to interview and evaluate each agency and vote on an amount to be funded. This process allows community members to help guide the focus of United Way JCGC and the impacts that they feel are most important.

Greetings
While I’m away for medical reasons the United Way is in very good hands with Steve Spade at the helm. We have not yet met our UW goal, but we know the community and all of our members will not stop at our goal and continue to exceed our goal to help and assist our community. Our United Way is ALL About Our COMMUNITY, and nothing else, so we really need your input, your donations, and your volunteer support to make this whole combination GREAT!!! While I am gone please continue to support us as you always have, and if you have NOT supported the UW before, now is a wonderful time to start. We encourage input to make our UW the best ever, Thank You.
May is here! Everyone is gearing up for graduation, summer vacation plans, or just enjoying the warmer weather. We would like to congratulate all of the 2023 graduates and wish them well on their next adventures.
As a mom of a graduating senior, the hustle and bustle, and high emotions are exhausting, but so rewarding! As our seniors head off to college, trade school, or enter the work field, we all hope that we have provided them with the know-how and tools to succeed. We have raised responsible, smart, and compassionate future leaders. Congratulations to the graduates, and the parents who got them to this point!
The office is gearing up for 4th of July events, Stuff the Bus, and more. We have ended our VITA program with almost 400 tax appointments. Our volunteers were busy! This year, we had 2 preparers, Cynthia Cason and Tricia Austin. Both of these amazing volunteers gave countless hours, not just preparing taxes, but studying and ensuring that they were the best tax advocates for our clients. We also had Trish Dundon who gave her Monday evenings to provide intake, a friendly smile, and a polite hello to those who came in for taxes. Our other volunteer, Liz Hawn came in when we needed a Spanish interpreter so that our Spanish-speaking clients could still receive amazing service. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who keep our VITA program running each year!
