Letter from the President

Hello May,

April is ending with a blast.

A lot of us went to the Paducah show and had so much fun. Congratulations to all of those that had quilts accepted, what an honor. We are really excited that Donna Daniel won a blue ribbon. Kari had two and Sharon had amazing quilts in the show that were unbelievable. Sue Bartlow had her Graffiti quilt there for the Cherrywood challenge. It was a great show, Sue and I got the chance to attend a bourbon tasting event with Cherrywood people and I know that Deborah, Sheree, Sandra F and Sandra J, and Mary Ann and her mother got the lucky chance to go to the Ricky Tims concert. Everyone shopped till they fell over. A great time was had by all.

Don’t forget to sign up for a table at the yard sale. There are still some tables available. Please talk to Sue

The Sew Day for April was a hit. Thanks to Helen Cordier for organizing it. We had quit a few people attend. Thanks to Sweet Home Quilting and Southern Charm Quilting for donating the prizes for the day.

The May speaker is Diane Loehr on Sashiko Japanese art of quilting. As it looks right now the class will be moved because of over shopping at Stitchers Garden but will be rescheduled when the teacher is better.

I hope to see everyone at the meeting on Thursday May 11th. This is the last month for you to get your paint chips for the half square triangle challenge so be there if you can. I believe we are up to 101 participants so far and lets get as many as possible.

Thanks Everyone

David O’Dell your President

Sashiko class Postponed

I was really excited about teaching the Sashiko class on May 13. However, I took a drive up to Brentwood to the Stitchers Garden on Thursday to shop their sale with Lorna, Lynne and Janet and as I was walking to the car, I had a nasty run in with a speed bump ending in a ambulance ride to the hospital and a fractured elbow. I will do the talk on at our meeting in May but will have to postpone the class to June 10th when I will have better use of my left arm.

I hope this isn’t an inconvenience for those of you who signed up and I look forward to teaching the class in June . Thanks for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Diane Loehr
