What Makes Them Tick?

As we spring into the season where outdoor events will be popping, TriCircle is hoping to engage with more of our tech savvy Millennials. We are looking to better understand what makes them tick and what gives them a sense of purpose while engaging in volunteer opportunities and service.

Times are changing, and social media isn't second nature for most people in my age category. At 58 years old, I definitely try to learn all I can about social media, but what I see as talent and a niche is second nature for the younger volunteers of today!

This generation, the one that has the potential to step up and volunteer for TriCircle in very meaningful ways, is also the same generation losing the greatest number of friends and loved ones to the disease of addiction.

This past Wednesday, we had a Fundraising & Events Advisory Board meeting, and a beautiful 27 year old female joined us for the first time. I hope, in time, she will be able to share her connection to our cause. For now, she is offering TriCircle her valuable energy and time. This young woman is a daughter, sister, wife, employee, part of a community, and, to me, a new connection to TriCircle's future. I see a great opportunity to create win-win outcomes!

Jay "Majors" Raposo

Connecticut Barber Expo 11
Mohegan Sun May 14-16th

Barbershop/Academy owner and master Barber Jay “Majors” Raposo set out to create a barbering event, uniting barbers and stylists from all over the world in his hometown state of Connecticut.

The CT Barber Expo is now the largest international Barber Competition and Expo in the world, the epicenter of the barbering community and talked about for months on social media. Barbers come from all over to compete in a variety of categories, ranging from Freestyle with Color, Freestyle Without Color, Speed Challenge, Theme Challenge and Self Hair Cutting Challenge. Attendance at last year's battle was over 10,000 people.

Jay's talents reach far past barbering. He has shared the lived experiences of his journey to inspire hope and create opportunities for people to learn the many facets of business: products, properties, presence, marketing, sustainability and social media presence necessary to build an empire.

This year is CT Barber Expo 11, there will be three action packed days featuring the Barber Grammy's, an incredible Barber Battle with several categories, educational classes by the industry’s top barbers and stylists, vendor booths, product demonstrations, platform artists, giveaways, and an after party. CT Barber Expo 2022 will be rock solid, with all of the amazing sponsors helping to make this year event unprecedented.

Thanks to Jay's generosity and deep commitment to our cause, TriCircle will have the honor of being present again at this year's Expo. Click here to learn more about attending and stop by the TriCircle booth, #508, when you arrive! Together WE are Stronger!
