President's Message
My fellow members,
Gustavo Image
I hope to see you all at the 57th Annual Municipal Seminar in Indian Wells. Few associations have the staying power that Contract Cities does, and I am proud to have served the California Contract Cities Association as President during the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

When I look back over this past year, I'm proud of what we have accomplished together. Without the support of my City staff, the Contract Cities staff, the Executive Board and my family, I could not have made it through the past year.

My hat is off to the Executive Board committee chairs and their members, who did much of the important work this year. Chair James Bozajian and the Special Events Committee worked diligently on the Fall Educational Seminar. Legislative Committee Chair Jorge Morales made great progress on the legislative front for our member cities. The City Managers/Administrators Committee is stronger under our Chair, Rene Bobadilla, as managers have become more engaged and active with the organization. Ali Sajjad Taj, Chair of the Membership Committee, worked very hard and as a result, we have added two new members this year. Budget Committee Chair, Nancy Tragarz, presented a fiscally responsible budget.

Sam and Sharon Olivito are retiring after 32 years of service to our association. We are grateful for the dedicated and loyal services provided by Sam and Sharon and their team for more than three decades.

The Executive Board held an extensive search over the last year, and we strongly believe we have found the most qualified person who will take the California Contract Cities Association to the next chapter. Marcel Rodarte comes with a wealth of experience not only as an elected official in the City of Norwalk, but as a member of the military, serving 21 years in the Air Force and eight years with Department of Homeland Security.

We end the year with a healthy budget and a strong presence in Sacramento and our local counties. The future depends on your support and leadership. I encourage you to join a committee and support incoming President Lou La Monte.

Thank you for the honor of serving you over the past year.

Sincerely,

Gustavo Camacho
President
