3rd grade scholars, James & Sally, take their rightful place at the head table as King and Queen of the annual Medieval Feast

Happy Friday, everyone!

I’m sure the great weather could be playing a part, but I can’t help but smile as I walk the school and see all the amazing things our kids get to experience here. Just yesterday, Mr. P’s annual Medieval Feast went off without a hitch. I hear there was an amazing mini play put on by our 7th graders, followed by a recitation, a knighting ceremony, and of course plenty of food! Thanks to all who contributed.

Elsewhere in the building the 2nd graders were able to get outside and weed our Bosco Garden. It looks amazing! They also planted plenty of beautiful flowers and plants. Looks like I have a gardening crew for the next 5 years! The first graders worked on the small garden outside their side of the building as well. These small but meaningful experiences are loved by the children and provide life skills that hopefully, as they work on their own gardens in adulthood, will bring them peace surrounded by the beauty that our Lord has given us.

I also saw our 6th graders taking our PreK kids over to the playground at the park to take advantage of the beautiful day. I hope the village doesn’t start charging us for all the time we have been spending there recently! I know my 5 year old raved about it. It may not seem like a big deal, but I say it all the time, these opportunities for our middle schoolers to be ‘big brothers’ and ‘big sisters’ doesn’t happen anywhere else. At our middle school they are constantly provided chances to grow as leaders and models of virtue. These years are so formative…I’m glad our teachers know how to utilize them!

Folks…all that I’m sharing with you now happened over one 24 hour period. I can write a book highlighting the amazing stories that come from these halls. Who can focus on that when I have a date with Lucy tonight at our Father Daughter dance! This isn’t just a dance. This is a prime opportunity, year after year, to show our daughters the way they should be treated by a man courting them. I just love this place. It’ll also be a good chance for my daughter to accept the fact that I can’t sing and I REALLY can’t dance…but I try anyway!

In Him,

Andy
