A Message from Our President

Dear Carondelet Community,

We look forward to honoring our graduating seniors as they prepare for their transition beyond Winton Drive. The week will culminate with our time honored traditions of the beautiful Baccalaureate ceremony on Thursday, and our Graduation Ceremony at Toyota (Concord) Pavilion on Saturday. While saying goodbye to our seniors is bittersweet, we are filled with pride as we celebrate all they have accomplished. They have created a lasting legacy at Carondelet, and we can’t wait to watch them carry our mission beyond our columned walls.

May has been a wonderful month for our spring athletes with much to celebrate and many competitions to continue. Congratulations to our Swim team who took second in the NCS Championships and second at CIF State! Our Lacrosse team made it to the third round of NCS putting up a great game against San Ramon Valley. Our undefeated Beach Volleyball team is seated first going into the NorCal Championships this weekend! Track and Field had their NCS Tri-Valley Meet on Saturday, and they will move on to the NCS Finals in four events next week (hurdles, triple jump, 1600 meters, and 800 meters). Our Rugby team won 12s Nor Cal Championships for the second consecutive year! Congratulations and good luck to our amazing Cougar student-athletes!

Wednesday evening we celebrated six of our award-winning Scientific Research students at the Science Symposium in our Jean Hofmann Center for Innovation. These students developed scientific questions that they were deeply interested in and designed experiments to answer those questions. They learned how to effectively communicate their results and gained scientific knowledge and mentorship that will help them succeed in future post-secondary STEM fields. We are so proud of our students' hard work and dedication to scientific research. A big thank you to Dr. Katie Hutches for the incredible support of our students through their important research.

Finally, we wish a blessed Mother’s Day to all our mothers and mother figures in the Carondelet community!

In Unifying Love,

Jessica (Smith) Mix '99

Valedictorian Natalie Bly ’24

We are proud to announce Natalie Bly as the Valedictorian for the Class of 2024. Natalie is recognized as an AP Scholar with Honors, CSF and NHS member, University of Pennsylvania Book Award winner, and a 4-year Varsity Tennis player, receiving the Coach’s Award this year and Most Valuable Player the previous year.

“I am really excited to be able to represent the class of 2024 at graduation,” says Natalie. “Going through the process of becoming Valedictorian was nerve racking, but very rewarding. Each of the candidates were extremely supportive and happy for each other, which was very uplifting and encouraging.” Read More

Salutatorian Audrey Bowes ’24

We are excited to share that Audrey Bowes has been selected as Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. “To be honest, I am shocked,” says Audrey. “The group of finalists was incredible. But I am very happy and honored that the senior class believes that I am a living representation of Carondelet’s core values.”

While at Carondelet, Audrey has taken seven AP courses, is Captain of the Varsity Tennis team, a 4-year class council representative, and recipient of multiple “Judge’s Choice” awards from the California Mock Trial Association, a National Hispanic Recognition Award for performance on the PSATs, and awards from the English Department and Religious Studies Department. In Loving Memory

Andy Jee

In loving memory of Andy Jee, a devoted father, cherished friend, and Carondelet JV volleyball coach... Andy epitomized joy, passion, and warmth both on and off the volleyball court.

“Andy was more than just a coach; he was a mentor, a motivator, and a source of inspiration,” said Coach Jerry Mix. “His infectious enthusiasm, and genuine love for coaching and the sport ignited a fire within his team, driving them to strive for excellence and fostering a sense of camaraderie that extended far beyond the game.”

Andy had a remarkable ability to connect with people. His friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He approached every interaction with kindness and empathy, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.

Though Andy may no longer be with us in body, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear friend, coach, and father. Your memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

Please respect his beloved family’s privacy—Deanna, Mia ‘27, and Alyssa ‘28—while you surround them with prayers.
