Summer Novena of Hope
Although the phrase “Go to St. Joseph” originally referred to Joseph in the Old Testament (Gen. 41:55), it pertains even more to St. Joseph, the spouse of Mary, foster-father of Jesus, and patron of the Universal Church.
Now you can “go to St. Joseph” literally, by going to The Miraculous Medal Shrine. Throughout this year dedicated to him, we’ve given St. Joseph—Mary’s beloved spouse—a special place of honor in her Shrine. Come to his sanctuary to pray to him and light a candle. And be sure to come to our Summer Novena of Hope, which will be dedicated to him.

That in the Middle Ages, the tradition of devoting 30 days to Mary began? It was called Tricesimum (“Thirtyfold” in Latin) and was also referred to as “Lady Month.” Initially, the 30 days were from Mary’s Assumption (August 15) to Our Lady of Sorrows (September 14). But by the 13th century, May had become “Mary’s month,” with a special procession and crowning in her honor.
Join us at The Miraculous Medal Shrine (in person or virtually) as we honor our Blessed Mother in our annual May Procession. If there is someone or something you’re praying especially for, give us your intentions, and we will lift them to Mary and bring them to her altar during our May Procession on May 17, starting at 11:00 a.m. They will be joined with the prayers of the Vincentians and our Miraculous Medal Family around the world— so you may receive our Blessed Mother’s abundant, transformative graces.
Come and lay roses at Mary’s feet as you offer up your petitions and intentions. Everyone who has mailed us their "rose" intentions will have them placed in a basket, which we’ll carry to Mary’s Altar during the procession. If you aren’t on our mailing list and want to make your online rose intention, you can do that here.
