Animators are gardeners. The very definition of animation illuminates the medium’s capacity to bring things to life. These films use plants and other natural materials to center the animation as
a site through which to consider grief, constant change, and transformation: a site that resists taxonomical classification and the rigidity of natural history in favor of illuminating the ineffable. LEARN MORE.

What's for Dessert: Simple Recipes for Dessert People author Claire Saffitz, a former Bon Appetit editor, spoke in Norwich thanks to the Norwich Bookstore. The Paris-trained chef found writing the book "fun and liberating...I felt defiant by featuring ingredients that are not sexy—but are delicious."

Dancing For Ruth
COVID got local choreographer Peggy Brightman and filmmaker Carla Kimball moving. The result? Our Voices, Bodies Rising, a tribute to women's journey beyond suffrage dedicated to Justice Ginsburg. Actors and dancers filmed themselves moving in response to works by 13 local poets. For a behind the scenes look, see The Making of a Pandemic Dance Film.

Psychedelic therapy in VT?
The U.S. is in a "profound renaissance" in the use of mind-altering drugs for therapeutic purposes, says Dr. Rick Barnett, co-founder of the the Psychedelic Society of VT. "Psilocybin is on track toward medicalization. It will be FDA approved in 2025-2027. There's enough evidence to show it is safe and effective," says the Burlington psychologist.

NEW Episode 35: Kirsten asks, "My dilemma: Making time to read fiction as my thirst for knowledge/ evidence increases with age."
